31 August 2012 - Painter (various) & Yvonne

Playing with Painter is addictive?

Congratulations to Yvonne on completing her 365 Zentangles project.

28 August 2012 - Freak-me-out Freckle & Photoshop

I added the brush-strokes in photoshop
after having failed with drawing on my hand
with a watercolour pencil.

I know I didn't have this freckle when I was younger
and it's disconcerting that I can't remember when it did appear.

My Mum made me the beautiful Bargello
embroidery cusion cover (it's one of a pair).

23 August 2012 - Olive Leaf Drops & Photoshop

Olive Leaf Drops are to help boost immunity
and ward off winter colds.

I added some of Dover's Photoshop Elements designs
to the plain tissue-paper background

21 August 2012 - Hot Chocolate & Painter

Made in Painter using a photo of dregs of hot chocolate at the bottom of a cup.

Used Painter's Elipse and Eraser to get rid of everything but the chocolate dregs,
then Layer Effect to change the hue,
then added flares with Inverted Airbrush, Distorto FX and Eraser again.

19 August 2012 - Google Doodle Guitar Tune

I discovered the Google Doodle that celebrates guitarist Les Paul's birthday

The Doodle lets you play tunes, record them and play them back.

I created a small tune by typing words based on the haiku I wrote for 9th January.

Don't know how long they store the recordings for - we shall see.

It's fun - I recommend giving it a go even if you're not musical (I'm not!).

Another one based on typing my name

and "Once upon a time"

The treble clef design was made in Photoshop by erasing part of a spectrum photo.

18 August 2012 - Tea Tonic Sampler & Photoshop

Tea Tonic's Sample Pack has 21 varieties (25 tea bags in the box)
bought from Romeo's Healthfoods in North Adelaide

I was getting rid of background shadows in Photoshop
and did a doodle on the background while I was there.

12 August 2012 - Crossing Button Cosies Out & About

A collaboration in creating with yarn.
Thanks to Liz for suggesting this
and to Roxanne for joining us.

We had a beautiful, mild, sunny Sunday morning,
relatively quiet in the city - bright and early.

Afterwards Liz and I went for brunch
and Roxanne went to decorate cakes.

After brunch I went to the SA Museum to see
the Waterhouse Natural History Art Prize Exhibition,
an annual event which is always worth a look

9 August 2012 - Rainbow Photo

The city sky was adorned with a rainbow
just in time for 9 to 5 office workers
spilling out to join the commute home.
