4 ply Poems sock yarn, 75% wool, 25% nylon

bought at Barb's Sew & Knits at Glenelg on Saturday

3.25 mm needles

 

I'm still working on the Curved Shawl too

but had a bit of a mishap with dropped stitches (now fixed - phew!),

so I cast on this easier knit for when my brai is tired.

4 November 2012 - Spider Lace Knitting

 

This is the cast-on for one of my favourite knits, "A Curved Shawl"

from the book "Victorian Lace Today"

(I gave up on the faggoting lace)

 

 

 

I knit this red version with alternative border for my friend Deb,

the blue below for myself (it was the first one)

and a green one (no photo) for my sister.

12 August 2012 - Crossing Button Cosies Out & About

A collaboration in creating with yarn.

Thanks to Liz for suggesting this

and to Roxanne for joining us.

We had a beautiful, mild, sunny Sunday morning,

relatively quiet in the city - bright and early.

Afterwards Liz and I went for brunch

and Roxanne went to decorate cakes.

After brunch I went to the SA Museum to see

the Waterhouse Natural History Art Prize Exhibition,

an annual event which is always worth a look

Knit 2 Purl 2 Typing Mitts based on some my sister designed for herself.

Pink for Nancy, grey for Liz, purple stripes for myself.

I've sprained my left wrist so no knitting for me at the moment - bad timing

as we had our World Wide Knit in Public day at Cafe Brunelli today,

I did lots of eating (and forgot to take any photos there as per every year).
